11 Rear Admirals, 14 Commodores Redeployed By Navy

The Nigerian Navy on Monday, redeployed 11 Rear Admirals and 14 Commodores, in a move said to reorganise the service.

Director of Naval Information, Commodore Suleman Dahun, who disclosed this in a statement, said the  Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, approved the new postings of the senior officers.

Dahun said Rear Admiral Matthew Emuekpere is now the new Chief of Policy and Plans of Naval Headquarters. Emuekpere, until the redeployment,  was the Chief of Naval Transformation at the Headquarters.

He also said the new Naval Headquarters Chief of Administration is now Rear Admiral Tanko Dakwat, who was formerly the Chief of Naval Safety and Standards at the Headquarters.

The former Director of Plans Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Christian Ezekobe, is the new Chief of Naval Transformation, Naval Headquarters, while Rear Admiral Kamarudeen Lawal, who was the Director of Research and Development, Naval Headquarters, has been reappointed to Naval Headquarters as Chief of Naval Safety and Standards.

The navy spokesman said: “Rear Admiral Dolapo Kolawole who was the immediate past Director of Training, Defence Headquarters, has been reappointed to Defence Headquarters as Director of Development while Rear Admiral Jatau Luka, formerly, Director of Administration, Naval Headquarters Abuja, moves to Defence Intelligence Agency as Director of Logistics.

“Rear Admiral Maurice Eno who was the Director of Development, Defence Headquarters, has been reappointed to Defence Headquarters as Director of Training while Rear Admiral Taiye Imam, formerly, the Chief Staff Officer, Headquarters Eastern Naval Command, resumes at Naval Headquarters as the Director of Administration.”

Also affected in the reorganisation is the former Chief Staff Officer Naval Training Command, Rear Admiral Idowu Yusuf, who now moves to the Naval Headquarters as Director of Plans.

The Naval Headquarters (Naval Safety and Standards) Director of Research and Development is now Rear Admiral Joseph Akpan.

“Similarly, Rear Admiral Vincent Okeke who was the Director of Education Defence Headquarters, moves to Naval Training Command as the Chief Staff Officer while Commodore Priston Efedue is the Chief Staff Officer Eastern Naval Command,” he said.
