About 110 former National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who served Nigeria between 2018/2019 have been granted automatic employment into a federal government agency as well as scholarship to further their education.
The affected ex-corpers were shortlisted for honors award following their outstanding impact during their service year.
A presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad , disclosed that the awards were given to the recipient on Thursday, on the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“The 2018/2019 President’s National Youth Service Corps Honours Award; President Buhari has offered automatic employment to 110 ex-corps members in the Federal Civil Service and scholarships for the pursuit of post-graduate studies up to doctoral level in any university in Nigeria,” he tweeted on Thursday.
On its part, NYSC had said that the conferment of the honors was a reward system for members who stood out in their orientation course, primary assignment, community development, among others.
