2 Cars Burnt As Diesel Laden Truck Falls In Anambra

A Toyota Camry car with registration number YEN 697 PY, and a Toyota Corolla car without a registration number, Sunday, crashed around Ihiala High Court, opposite Kama Filling Station, causing a fire outbreak in the process. The Camry was said to be carrying diesel, which exacerbated the fire, and burnt the vehicles completely.

THE WHISTLER gathered that the crash involved a total of nine persons, comprising seven male adults and two female adults. No injury was however recorded.

An eyewitness said the FRSC rescue team, Nigeria police and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps assisted in putting off the fire before the arrival of men of the Federal Fire Service.

Meanwhile, a yet-to-be identified driver of a Mack tanker with registration number AKD 69 XW lost control and fell as a result of brake failure. The accident occurred along Immigration junction, Awka, Anambra State. The two occupants of the tanker were not injured.

The sector commander, FRSC, Anambra State, Andrew A. Kumapayi, has warned motorists to ensure constant maintenance of their vehicles in order to prevent breakdown on highways, and also observe all road regulations to avoid road mishaps.
