2 Women Arraigned For Pouring Hot Water On 10-Year-Old House Help In Anambra

Two women, one Nneka Ayaene, aged 34 years, and Chinenye Okoh, aged 22 years, from Ndiowu town in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, were Friday charged to court for allegedly assaulting and inflicting serious injuries on their house help.

It was gathered that a formal report on the case was lodged at Oko Police Station on 5/1/2021 at about 1015am, after which police operatives of the station commenced investigations into the matter.

CSP Haruna Mohammed, the police public relations officer of the Anambra State Police Command, told THE WHISTLER in Awka, weekend, that ‘The suspects allegedly assaulted their house help, one Chidimma Nworie Ani, aged about 10 years old, by pouring hot water on her, which caused injuries all over her body because of some domestic issues.”

The PPRO said the police operatives visited the scene and rushed the victim to Best Hospital, Oko, for medical attention where she is presently responding to treatment, adding that the suspects had been charged to the Magistrate’s Court at Nanka for prosecution after the conclusion of investigations.

The case was adjourned to 10/2/2021 for trial while the suspects were remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Onitsha.
