2016 Cartoon ‘Predicting Kobe Bryant Helicopter Crash’ Deleted By Producers

The producers of a 2016 cartoon which joked about Kobe Bryant being killed in a helicopter crash have deleted the content from the internet after the shocking death of the NBA legend and his daughter Gianna in a chopper crash.

Bryant, 41, died alongside his daughter Gianna, 13, and seven other passengers when the Sikorsky S-76B helicopter crashed in California on Sunday.

The tragedy was similar to a clip from the Comedy Central cartoon “Legends of Chamberlain Heights” being circulated on social media that showed the NBA legend crash his helicopter nicknamed ‘Mamba Chopper’.

The particular episode with title; “End of Days”, was originally televised on November 16, 2016 as Bryant was trapped in his wrecked plane with his NBA trophies before it explodes.

The show which only aired 20 episodes and was concluded in August 2017, appealed to fans on Twitter to not share clips from the cartoon on any platform and confirmed they had removed the content.

In a statement, the producers said: “Out of respect for Kobe and his family we have removed the clip of him and ask that you please don’t share it.

“RIP Kobe and Gigi Bryant and everyone else who died in the helicopter crash today.”

Bryant’s former pilot, Kurt Deetz, who flew the helicopter for Bryant between 2014 and 2016 was of the opinion that the likely cause of the crash was bad weather and dismissed the assumption linking the crash with engine failure.

Deetz told  Los Angeles Times: “The likelihood of a catastrophic twin engine failure on that aircraft – it just doesn’t happen.”
