2016 Hajj: Airlift Begins In Sokoto With 500 Pilgrims

The airlift commenced at Sa’ad Abubakar III International Airport, Sokoto, with the inaugural flight carrying about 500 Nigerian Muslim pilgrims from Zamfara State to Saudi Arabia.

The pilgrims boarded a flight with registration number 5N-HMM of Max Air, which departed from the airport at 3:15pm to Medina International Airport comprising of 177 females and 323 males.

The chairman/CEO of NAHCON, Barr Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad, in a press statement commended the Saudi Arabian embassy in Nigeria for its tremendous contributions toward easing the process of visa application for Nigerian pilgrims.

He said “the commitment and devotion of the Kingdom embassy and consulate in Kano and Abuja greatly reduced the hardship and eased the issuance process for the pilgrims.

“On behalf of the management of NAHCON, I want to express our gratitude to the embassy and consulate in Nigeria. Their efforts have really served us well in terms of the swiftness in which the pilgrims visa processing is being handled”.
