2017 Oscar: La La Land Grabs 14 Nominations As Black Actors Get Recognized

The musical drama has now tied the record held by All About Eve and Titanic – the two only movies that have ever gotten 14 nominations in Academy Award history.

The coming-of-age tale Moonlight and sci-fi thriller Arrival both received eight nominations.

In a surprise move, six black actors were also nominated in this year’s award, after the academy was largely criticized for racial discrimination in the last 2 editions.

The 89th Academy Awards will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on 26 February
