2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier: Super Eagles Coach Gives Sunday Deadline To Players

Nigeria’s senior football team coach, Gernot Rohr has ordered all players invited for the Russia 2018 world cup to report to camp on or before Sunday with the exclusion of Chelsea’s Victor Moses and Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi who will be engaged with their respective clubs in the Premier League action that day.

The Nigeria team will be playing on September 1, a day that has been declared public holiday to mark Salah celebration. And the scheduled venue is the Godswill Akpabio International stadium located in the state capital of Akwa Ibom State, Uyo.

Coach Rohr said: “Every player is expected to arrive Abuja at the weekend with the exception of Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi, who will be playing (for their respective clubs) on Sunday. They will join up with the team in Uyo on Monday latest.”

The German national said he was expecting China-based Eagles Captain John Obi Mikel and Odion Ighalo today and he also said that in each department of the team, he has key players returning and he needed their experiences and talents.

The Eagles will leave Abuja for Uyo on Monday afternoon with the coach expecting a full house for the team’s trainings on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The coaches are looking forward to having five days of training and perfect strategies on how to stop the Indomitable Lions of Cameroonian’s team who are eager to overturn the six points lead garnered by the Super Eagles from two matches in the group B of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
