2018 W/Cup Qualifiers: The Best Goalkeeper Will Man Eagle’s Post, Rohr Assures Nigerians

Nigeria’s national senior football team coach, Gernot Rohr has assured Nigerians that the best goalkeeper will be chosen to man the post in the much-anticipated World Cup qualification match between the Super Eagles and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun scheduled to Hold in Uyo on Friday.

The German tactician disclosed that the coaching crew will pick the best amongst Akpeyi, Dele Alampasu and Ikechukwu Ezenwa who was in good form when the home-based Eagles beat Benin Republic to qualify for the CAF Africa Nations Championship.

“We have Akpeyi, we have (Ikechukwu) Ezenwa, we have (Dele) Alampasu, we will see.

“We have a local goalkeeper, we have a very young one and we have another one (Akpeyi) who is more experienced.

“He is playing in South Africa, and we will see with our goalkeeper coaches to determine who will start the game.” Rohr said.

The Super Eagles host Cameroon in Uyo on September 1, 2017 and the return leg game is scheduled to be played in Yaoundé three days later.

Nigeria is at the top of the Group B table with 6 points, while the Cameroonians are following them with 2 points with Zambia and Algeria on 1 point in the group.
