2019: Buhari’s Health Our Major Fear, Say Civil Society Groups

Some civil society organizations have expressed fear over the health condition of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is seeking re-election.

The groups numbering about 12, known as the Good Governance Campaign, expressed this concern on Thursday during their match along the old toll gate, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, demanding the health status of the president.

The physical and mental fitness of the leader of a country, according to them determines the development of the country.

The President of one of the CSOs, Equity and Justice Movement, Obatungashe Adebayo noted that the move by the CSOs was not to ridicule the President but an expression of love for him.

He said, “We want the President himself or his physicians to come out to tell us his state of health to be sure that the President is capable, and he can rule this country for the next four years when people give him the mandate.

“We love him; we are not against him. What we are saying is that we love him the same way we love this country and we are stakeholders in the developmental agenda of this country.
