According to him, his decision to contest was borne out of his desire to give the people of the zone a voice.

He said that he was contesting so as to support the PDP to reclaim power at all levels in the state.

“I am not contesting because I am hungry, but my mission in 2019 is to ensure that the All Progressives Congress (APC) lose in my zone and the state in general,” he said.

Giwa assured that he would remain and work for the party even if he failed to secure the senate ticket, adding that the interest of the party was above personal interests.

“I don’t see my fellow aspirants as enemies. I see them as brothers and partners in progress. We are all aspiring because we want PDP to take over power in 2019.

“So, the outcome of the primaries does not really matter to me. I assure you that I will not leave the party even if I lose at the primaries, ” he said.

The aspirant called on the party faithful to shun greed and primordial interest, but remain committed to the ideals of the party at all times.

Mr Amos Gombi, the party’s Deputy Chairman in the state, assured all aspirants on the platform of the party a leveled playing ground.

“We shall be very transparent in the conduct of our primaries and all aspirants will be treated equally, ” Gombi said.
