2019: Governor Amosun Declares For Senate
The Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, has formally declared his intention to run for Senate.
Amosun, who made the declaration on Wednesday during a meeting with the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, said he will contest for a senatorial seat in the 2019 general elections.

Amosun was elected senator for the Ogun Central district of Ogun State, Nigeria in April 2003.
In April 2007 he made an unsuccessful bid to be elected governor of Ogun State.
He ran for governor again on 2011, and this time was elected on the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) platform. He ran for office for the 2nd Term under the All Progressives Congress in 2015 and won.
His latest declaration will make it the second time he is seeking to be elected as senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
