2019: Mimiko To Contest Buhari’s Seat

Former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, has declared to run against President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election.

Mimiko, who had defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to Labour Party in June, made the declaration on Thursday.

The former governor made the announcement at Labour Party’s national headquarters in Abuja.

The 63-year-old politician served as the fifth civilian governor of Ondo State from 2009 – 2017.

Mimiko was succeeded by Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after PDP’s candidate lost at the gubernatorial poll in the state.
