2019: Billionaire Businessman, Otedola Joins Lagos Guber Race

Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, is set to contest in the Lagos state gubernatorial election under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

This was revealed by Former Presidential candidate and publisher of Ovation magazine, Chief Dele Momodu, on his twitter handle.

The journalist and publisher announced that the opposition party offered the businessman the governorship ticket which he accepted.

“Lagos 2019 promises to be interesting. PDP offers Femi Otedola governorship ticket. He’s accepted and personally confirmed to The Boss newspaper…” Momodu wrote.

Meanwhile, the governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has been allegedly threatened to drop his second term bid or face impeachment.

It was learnt that the threat follows a fall-out the governor had with his estranged godfather, Bola Tinubu.

According to The Cable, over 50 council chairmen loyal to Tinubu have met and pledged their support for Jide Sanwonolu, who is believed to be Tinubu’s preferred choice.

“Meeting is over. Ambode is out. Jide Sanwonolu is the new governor of Lagos. All 57 local government chairman have signed his form. It’s over,” The Cable quoted a source to have said.
