2020 WASSCE: Students Hopeful As WAEC Probes Cases Of Malpractice

The West Africa Examination Council(WAEC), has disclosed that its highest decision making organ( Nigeria Examinations Committee) has begun investigating the 2020 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination results held for malpractices.

WAEC tweeted about this on Thursday, adding that the probe would last for three days.

“The 70th Meeting of the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) started today and will end on Saturday. The Committee is meeting to decide on the exam malpractice cases arising from the conduct of WASSCE for SC, 2020. Usually, results of candidates found culpable will be cancelled,” it tweeted.

THE WHISTLER earlier reported that WAEC had on November 2, withheld the results of 215,149 candidates over allegations of malpractice.

It had noted that the fate of those results would be determined after conclusion of investigation.

Based on the development, some persons through their Twitter handles, called for an objective investigation.

The examination is one of the crucial steps for candidates seeking entry into higher institutions.
