2023: Northerners Shared Presidential Posters At PDP Convention But No Igbo Man Shared Leaflet – Chidoka

Former Aviation Minister, Osita Chidoka, has made an observation about the ongoing national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where delegates are voting for new National Working Committee members.

Chidoka observed that while political bigwigs from the North and North Central littered the venue of the convention with their presidential posters, no politician from the South East did the same.

The former minister from Anambra State seems to be disappointed that despite the clamour for a president of South East extraction in 2023, no single poster of an lgbo man or woman was spotted at the Eagle Square, Abuja, where the event is taking place.

“At the PDP convention Atiku, Tambuwal, Bala Mohammed, kwankwaso, Saraki dominated the Arena with Presidential posters. No Igboman even shared a leaflet,” Chidoka said in a Facebook post on Saturday evening.

Atiku, a former vice president from Adamawa State in northeastern Nigeria, is considered one of the frontrunners for the party’s 2023 presidential ticket.

Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, and former governors Rabiu Kwankwaso and Bukola Saraki of Kano and Sokoto states have reportedly indicated interest to fly the ticket.

Meanwhile, the following prominent persons from the South East have at different times been tipped as qualified to lead the country:

Governor Dave Umahi, Ogbonnaya Onu, Anyim Pius Anyim (Ebonyi State); Geoffrey Onyema, Barth Nnaji, Nnia Nwodo Jnr, Ike Ekweremadu (Enugu State) and Emeka Ihedioha, Rochas Okorocha, Kema Chikwe and Humphrey Anumudu (Imo State).

Others are Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Enyinnaya Abaribe, Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia State) and former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, amongst others.
