2023: Tinubu Presidential Movement Kicks Off In Abuja

The supposed presidential bid of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has received a boost as a group of supporters from all 36 states of the country and the FCT have flagged-off a political movement toward the cause.

The political movement, BAT 23, was flagged-off in Abuja on Saturday ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

Tinubu, though yet to officially declare his intention to run for president, is believed to be gearing up to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

BAT 23’s national coordinator, Umar Inusa, said the group has the responsibility to canvas support for the APC leader in the next presidential election.

“Tinubu is a leader who transforms nothing into something and feeds his people from the riches of what has been so transformed,” Daily Trust quoted Inusa to have said.

“In his time as Lagos state governor, staff salaries, developmental projects, philanthropic activities never stopped.

“Now, think about the bigger picture here.

“If he did that in Lagos and we never heard Lagos state going into recession at the time, what if he had the whole country struggling to manage her abundant resources?

“Let us ponder upon that. That is the man of calibre and pedigree, a charismatic and selfless leader we pray to canvass support to pilot the affairs of this nation and take it to the promised land,” he added.

At a 2015 presidential rally of the APC in Lagos, Tinubu had described himself as having the requirements to be the president of Nigeria.

He had said, “We chose Buhari not because Bola Tinubu is not interested in the Presidency. I am capable, competent, qualified, younger and richer but there comes a time that people must make sacrifices for their nation.”
