The offences of those convicted ranged from speed-limit violation to operating with either fake or expired driving licences.

The public education officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, RC Kamal Musa, told newsmen in Awka that, “A total of 45 traffic offenders were arrested and prosecuted in line with the dictates of the law. Forty-two offenders were convicted and three discharged accordingly. The total number of offences committed was 98, most prevalent hinged on drivers’ licences and speed-limit devices.”

The sector commander of the FRSC, Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi, said in a statement that the essence of the mobile court was not for victimization, but to check the excesses of erring drivers.

He further admonished motorists to always adhere strictly to road traffic regulations.
