45 Dead, 53 Injured As Military Aircraft Crashes In Phillipines

The Government of Philippines was thrown into grief on Sunday, when its military aircraft carrying about 90 people crashed in the southern part of the country.

The incident resulted in the death of about 45 persons.

Philippines Presidential Spokesperson,
Secretary Harry Roque, announced via Facebook that efforts were been made to rescue others.

Roque added that the military will give a comprehensive update of what transpired.

“We are deeply saddened by the C-130 mishap in Sulu.

“Rescue efforts are ongoing, and we are one in praying for the safe recovery of the passengers.

“Let us wait for the Armed Forces of the Philippines to release an update on this very unfortunate incident,” the spokesperson stated on Sunday.

Aljazeera reports that the Department of National Defence issued a statement saying that aside those that died, 53 passengers sustained serious injuries while five military officials were still missing.
