4yrs After Synagogue Building Collapse, Fani-Kayode Alleges Grand Cover-Up

Four years after the infamous collapse of the building belonging to Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua’s church, the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has again accused the security apparatus of the federal government and Lagos State government of covering up the incident.

Fani-Kayode has been vocal since the incident which occurred on Friday, 12th September 2014 and resulted in the death of approximately 116 people, most of whom were foreigners.

He said the Federal government has deliberately refused to act because of its involvement.

Recall that the ex-Aviation Minister had in 2017 said, “the motive for the attack was to silence and discredit Joshua, who, by that time, had become a thorn in the flesh of many within the corridors of power, simply because he was exposing the deepest secrets about what was going on in the country and those who were covertly working against former President Goodluck Jonathan.”

Fani-Kayode in series of tweets on Thursday, went on to urge the Federal Government to seek international help in order to unravel the mystery behind the collapse.

The tweet reads: “Four years and one day ago, on September 12th 2014, 200 worshippers from all over the world were murdered at Prophet T.B. Joshua’s Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) when a church building was brought down by a remote-controlled device which was detonated by a drone.

“The truth about this heinous event has been kept from the Nigerian people and there has been a massive cover-up about what really transpired which involved the Federal Government, the DSS, the NIA, Military Intelligence and the Lagos State Government.

“Worse still they have all attempted to pass the buck. This event was one of the most evil and callous acts of terror in the history of our nation and one day every single one of those behind it will be brought to justice.

“I honor those that died on that day and I commend the tremendous strength and fortitude that my friend and brother, Prophet T.B. Joshua and his SCOAN Church have shown over the last four years despite this devastating loss.

“I call on the Federal Government to seek international help and to open a new investigation on this matter with a view to bringing the real culprits to justice.

“May the Lord comfort the families of those that were killed, may He continue to strengthen Prophet T.B. Joshua and the SCOAN family and may He grant peace eternal to the souls of those that were so cruelly murdered on that evil day.”

T.B. Joshua had on Tuesday paid tribute to victims of the building collapse where he said, “When a believer dies, he goes into glory, where there is no conflict.”

He also urged believers to honor the memory of the martyrs of faith, by endeavouring to live for the Lord and give themselves to the needs of others.

The SCOAN founder also stressed the need for and importance of forgiveness, “If you stay free from offence, you will stay in God’s will. If you become offended, you will be taken captive by the enemy to fulfill his own purpose and will.

“If He could forgive the people who were killing Him, we can certainly find a way to forgive those who hurt us. When we cannot forgive, we hurt ourselves more than anyone. Nursing a grudge damages our heart,” he said.

Over 100 people including 85 South Africans, lost their lives when the guest house associated to the SCOAN collapsed.

SCOAN still insists the building fell as a result of an ‘attack’, pointing to CCTV footage of a military plane encircling the building shortly before its implosion.

The case has been in court since then, with no conclusion to that effect.
