President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday, launched the All Progressives Congress (APC) Road Map for the 2019 Campaign titled ‘Next Level’.
The President who highlighted the achievements of his administration in the past three years explained why the party chose the ‘Next Level’ slogan for its 2019 campaign.
“We have worked hard to fulfil our promises – and while the road may have been difficult, over the last three and a half years, we have laid the foundations for a strong, stable and prosperous country for the majority of our people,” he said.

“Foundational work is not often visible, neither is it glamorous – but it is vital to achieving the kind of country we desire.
“Judging by the prior depth of decay, deterioration and disrepair that Nigeria had sunken into, we are certain that these past few years have put us in good stead to trudge on the Next Level of building an even stronger nation for our people,” he added.
Below are five key promises in Buhari’s “Next Level” agenda extracted by THE WHISTLER:
Job Creation
President Buhari announced that the APC ‘Next Level’ will focus on job creation across various sectors.
• Enlargement of the N-Power programme to include investments in technology, creative sector jobs, agriculture and revolutionizing access to credit for entrepreneurs and artisans to create over 15 million new jobs.
• Exploit the comparative advantage of the geopolitical zones and different states by developing 6 Industrial Parks and 109 Special Production and Processing Centres (SPPCs) across each senatorial district.
Mechanization For Agriculture
• Development of the Special Economic Zones to concretize the Made in Nigeria for Export (MINE) plan, and sustaining food production through the mechanization policy for agriculture.
• Development of the Special Economic Zones will quickly concretize Made in Nigeria for Export (MINE) plan. Mechanization policy for agriculture will make tractors and processors easily accessible and available for farmers across Nigeria.
• Wide-scale training policy will continue and technology would be prioritized to reach the young people within the productive sector on a massive scale.
Eliminate Farmers/Herders Conflict
The President, in his speech, assured that the lingering farmers and herders clash will be eliminated.
• To implement the comprehensive policy and work done to bring an end to the perennial conflict between farmers and herders.
• To implement a blend of measures that ensure that justice, order, modernization and new economic paradigms emerge.
Overhaul Education Sector
According to Buhari, the overhaul of the country’s education sector is APC’s biggest ambition.
• To remodel 10,000 schools every year and retrain teachers to impart science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics using coding, animation, robotics to re-interpret our curriculum.
Anti-Corruption War
Buhari noted that the war against corruption is still a threat to the country, adding that the APC led government will not give up the fight until the war has been won.
• Moral integrity and conscience will continue to form the dominant character of the nation and its leadership. Corruption is an existential threat to Nigeria.
