No fewer than five people have died, and several others injured, after a suicide bomber attacked a security checkpoint in Borno state.
This was confirmed by officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The attack occurred at a checkpoint at Mandariri, Konduga local government area of the state.

It was learnt that part of those killed were identified as members of the civilian JTF.
It was also learnt that the suicide attack was carried out by a male suicide bomber who hid the IED between his thighs.
