Abe Loyalists Insist On Major Crisis In APC Rivers

All is not well in the Rivers state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), some members of the party have insisted.

The members aligned to Senator Magnus Abe dismissed claims by some members of their party the there was no crisis in the Rivers APC.

Of recent, the party is torn between Transportation minister, Rotimi Amaechi, and Senator Abe who is reportedly eyeing the governorship contrary to Amaechi’s directive for him not to.

The development is coming on the heels of a statement credited to Sen. Andrew Uchendu that there is no crisis in the party. A

However, a former Attorney-General of the state, Mr. Wogu Boms, stated that there is huge unresolved crisis in the state’s chapter, stating that it is high time the leaders resolved it.

According to Boms, if all was well in the party, some of the leaders of the party in the local government areas would not have been sacked by the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi.

He said that the crisis in the party stems from the ambition of Abe to be the governorship candidate of the party in 2019, stressing that leaders and members of the party are in disunity at the moment.

“There is big crisis in the party and every leader of the aware of it. It will then be wrong for somebody to come out to say there is no crisis when we all know the truth. Even a blind man knows that we are in crisis.

“The crisis we have in APC is the crisis of who emerges the candidate of the party. The crisis we have is an unexampled type. There are big problems and Chief Andrew Uchendu is playing Ostrich to it,” Boms said.
