Adamawa: Police Arrest 4 Kidnappers, Recover Live Ammunition

The Adamawa State Police Command has recovered one AK-47 rifle and 5 live ammunition from suspected Kidnappers in Michika Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this on Friday.

It gave the names of the suspects as Abubakar Abdullahi, 39-year-old, who is a resident of Mubi South LGA in Adamawa, and Ibrahim Garba, a 35-year-old resident of Askira Uba LGA in Borno State.

Others are Isa Ahmadu, 30 years old, residing in Dawarsa in Yobe State and Bulama Ahmadu, 20 years old, a resident of Dawarsa, Yobe State.

According to Nguroje, the suspects were arrested by the police in collaboration with the military on Thursday, after they allegedly organised and kidnapped two victims; Aminu A. Shehu and Ali A. Shehu, at Tudun Wada, Michika LGA

The police said the victims were kidnapped at the residence of one Alhaji Shehu Ali of Tudun Wada in Michika.

The police spokesman also said another operation was carried out in collaboration with hunters at Gamu Hill.

“The strategy yielded another success, as one amongst the syndicate of Kidnappers that has been terrorising Jada, Ganye and villages around them was neutralised, and one AK-47 rifle recovered,” added Nguroje.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Afolabi Babatola, while expressing his joy over the success, commended the operational commanders and urged that the synergy be sustained.

The AIG also assured of diligent prosecution of the suspects.
