Recall that a few days ago, Premium Times alleged that the minister allegedly possesses a forged NYSC certificate. The certificate was allegedly issued in September 2009, granting her exemption from the mandatory national service on account of age.

Mrs. Adeosun is however yet to respond to the allegation.

In the statement, the NYSC’s spokesperson, Adeyemi, confirmed that the finance minister applied for an Exemption Certificate.

Adeyemi said, “Our attention has been drawn to the issue of the alleged forgery of an NYSC Exemption Certificate by the Honourable Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun.
