AFCON 2017: Ighalo Assures Nigerians of Qualification

Super Eagle’s and Watford of England striker Odion Ighalon has insisted that the AFCON 2017 ticket was still within the reach of the Super Eagles, despite the Egyptians tagged favourites to qualify ahead of Nigeria.

The Super Eagles lie in second place, two points behind leaders Egypt, with both countries set to clash in March, 2016.

Ighalo, who is among the 24 players called up by coach, Sunday Oliseh, for friendly matches against Cameroon and Congo, has admitted it’s a difficult situation.

He however insisted the Eagles still have their destiny in their hands.

He said, “The AFCON 2017 ticket is within our reach, this is football never say never. We still have to play the group leaders Egypt home and away, those matches are of great importance to our ambition”.
