After Losing Kogi, Bayelsa Elections, PDP Asks INEC To Legalise Electronic Voting

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to legalise electronic voting in Nigeria.

The call came after PDP lost the November 16 Bayelsa and Kogi governorship and senatorial elections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)

The party’s National Chairman, Uche Secondus, made the call during a crucial meeting between the PDP National Working Committee and INEC leadership in Abuja.

Secondus pleaded with INEC to submit a legal framework for electronic voting to the National Assembly that should be passed a bill to enable free and fair elections in the country.

“INEC must come out to submit this model to the NASS,” he said, adding “We in the PDP are in the forefront for a legal framework for a free and fair election.

“All is not well with our country. We are sitting on a keg of gun powder,” said Secondus.
