Again, Benue Govt Bursts Almajiri Hideout

The Benue State government has again raided a hideout for Almajiris and truck pushers in Makurdi, the state capital.

The state deputy governor, Benson Abounu, led the state Action Committee on Coronavirus (COVID-19) to raid the settlement located in Wurukum area of the state on Wednesday.

This is coming few days after the government repatriated 59 almajiris to their states of origin in Bauchi and Katsina.

The latest raid followed a tip off from the Wurukum Task Force after discovering that a truck pusher just returned from Kano.

The committee, which raided the hideout, ensured all safety and precautionary measures were taken before the suspects were taken for testing and Isolation.
