Tyopev said that no suspect had yet been arrested in connection with the attack, and called on those with useful information to avail it to the security agencies.

The PPRO said the students of the University had staged a protest on Monday morning to express their displeasure over the incident.

He, however, said the arrival of officers and men of the command to the scene had restored normalcy to the University community.

This is not the first time the university will be losing her students to gunmen attack.

On March 25, a student was shot dead with two others injured after unknown gunmen attacked their hostel.

The death of the student led to protest by fellow students who took to the university campus and its environs in protest, disrupting academic activities.

The protesting students destroyed security checkpoints at the entrance of the university. The members of the Special Task Force on Jos crisis posted to the institution reportedly took to their heels at the height of the protest.

The protesters also disrupted free flow of vehicular movements to and from the headquarters of Bokkos Local Government Area.

At the time of filing this report, a likely reason for the persistent attacks on the university is unknown.
