Again, NNPC’s Baru Passes Vote Of Confidence On GMD-designate, Kyari

The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Maikanti Baru, has again passed a vote of confidence on his incoming successor, Mr. Mele Kyari.

Baru, while introducing Kyari to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Abubakar Mohammed Adamu, on Friday, expressed confidence in the incoming GMD’s ability to improve on his performance.

The NNPC boss, who was on a farewell visit to the Force Headquarters in Abuja, appreciated the IGP for the continuous support the police have shown in fighting crime and insecurity in the country, especially in the area of oil and gas asset security.

“Kyari will improve on my performance. He has been part of my team and I thank God Mr. President has appointed him. I have no doubt about his capacity to deliver,” he said.

According to a statement by the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of NNPC, Ndu Ughamadu, the police boss pledged to sustain the existing working relationship between the two bodies as he also congratulated him for job well done.

“We are going to miss your experience,”Adamu said.

“You are so easy to access, you put the interest of the country first throughout your service years, so I congratulate you.”

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had directed Kyari and the newly appointed Chief Operating Officers (COOs) to resume office, 8th July 2019.
