Ahmad Lawan Bags Appointment As Patron Of Anti-Graft Body

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has been named as patron of the Chartered Institute of Forensic and Investigative Professionals of Nigeria (CIFIPN).

Lawan was inducted by the anti-fraud body’s president, Ayeshetu Victoria Enape, at his office on Thursday in Abuja.

According to Enape, Lawan was honoured for sponsoring the bill legally recognising the professional body during the 8th Senate.

Lawan, in his acknowledgment speech, pledged that the National Assembly would expeditiously consider the Chartered Institute of Forensic and Investigative Professionals of Nigeria (CIFIPN) Bill presently before the 9th National Assembly.

The Senate President also urged the Federal Government to leverage on technology to improve revenue collection by government agencies.

“The fight against corruption is worthy, considering the damage it is causing and has caused over the years. The angle from which the Chartered Institute of Forensic and Investigative Professionals of Nigeria (CIFIPN) is coming from, is surely a practical approach,” said Lawan.
