‘Air Peace Lied To Us, Cancelled Delayed Flight At Last Minute’ – Passenger Slams Airline

Many passengers who had one or two important appointments to keep were left stranded on Thursday after Air Peace airline canceled their flight despite an initial two-hour delay.

A passenger of the Nigerian indigenous carrier narrated his awful experience to THE WHISTLER on Thursday after the airline canceled his flight for no tangible reason.

It was the latest in a series of flight cancellations or delays to be experienced by passengers of Air Peace in the last few weeks.

The passenger, who didn’t want his name mentioned, accused Air Peace of “professional scam” and “lying” to its passengers about having scheduled flight to Imo State.

The flight (P47156) was originally scheduled to depart Abuja at 3:45pm for Imo State, but was delayed to 5:20pm before it was eventually canceled.

The passenger told THE WHISTLER: “They lied to us and kept us till 4:30 before telling us they will extend departure time till 5:20.

“When we boarded (and) were about to leave the tarmac, they turned us back and told us that the flight had been canceled.

“They told us that Imo State is a sunset city and that we would not be able to land after 6:30 pm.”

According to the passenger, Air Peace retrieved passengers’ claiming tag after the flight cancelation and rescheduled the flight for 7:00 am on Friday.

Lameting his frustration, the passenger told THE WHISTLER that his company was scheduled to organise a training session for his mom’s organization in the Okigwe area of Imo State but that the arrangement was ruined after Air Peace canceled his flight.

“I don’t want to disappoint my mom, even though I know it’s not my fault,” the passenger told this website.

THE WHISTLER reports that Air Peace is gradually becoming infamous for delaying or canceling passengers flights with attending complaints by travellers who have become weary of apologies from the company’s management.

The company’s chief executive, Allen Onyeama, recently told the Nigerian Senate that the flight delays or cancelations were due to either non-availability of aviation fuel and its rising cost, inadequate parking spaces at airports, non-availability of forex for spare parts and maintenance and sudden change of weather as well as delay due to VIP movement, amongst others.
