Ajayi Crowther University Students Arraigned For Beating Fellow Student To Death
Twenty-five students of Ajayi Crowther University have been arraigned on Wednesday, before the Chief Magistrate Court, in connection with the death of fellow student Alex Timileyin.
Timileyin was allegedly beaten to death by the group on Friday, May 31, inside a university hostel. The suspects, aged 18 to 34, were remanded in prison until July 8, pending trial.
THE WHISTLER had reported that Timileyin was allegedly beaten inside a university hostel by a group of students who accused him of stealing a mobile phone.
According to THE WHISTLER reports, the assault continued for over 16 hours, from Friday evening to Saturday morning.
Popular X user, “Lord Of Warri”, who is a relative of the deceased, took to social media to express appreciation to Oyo State authorities for pursuing the case.
“Today June 5, 25 students were arraigned in court in connection with the tragic murder of Prince Alex Timileyin, a son of the Warri Kingdom and a student at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo.

“The court has remanded them in prison until July 8, pending trial.
“We appreciate the efforts of the Oyo State Government and the Oyo State Police Command in pursuing justice and ensuring that the perpetrators are held accountable.
“We await the trial and expect that justice will be served in its entirety,” he tweeted.
