Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel Suspends Aide Over Fraud

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, on Friday, suspended one of his Special Assistants, Emmanuel Nicholas.

The suspension takes immediate effect.

A statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Emmanuel Ekuwem, said Nicholas was suspended following allegations of fraudulent activities leveled against him.

The statement did not however, mention the nature of the fraud in which Nicholas was involved.

Ekwuwem said the governor’s aide would remain suspended until “investigations are completed by security agencies and he is cleared of the allegations.”

The SSG said “The Akwa Ibom State Government, led by Mr. Udom Emmanuel, will continue to uphold transparency, Integrity and accountability as its core values.”
