Ali Modu-Sheriff To Quit As Chairman After PDP Convention

This, Sheriff said on Wednesday, during a meeting with South-West members of the PDP in Abuja.

He said his mission as PDP chairman is to help the party reclaim its lost glory.

“I am not here to remain as chairman forever. I will leave after the convention, we will conduct a credible convention and whoever wants to be PDP leader can contest in the convention,” Sheriff said.

Speaking on the party’s national secretariat which has been under lock by security operatives for some time, Sheriff said, “We have transmitted the necessary document to the security agencies; including the Nigerian Police and the DSS to reopen it.”

It would be recalled that the crisis rocking the PDP started after two courts gave conflicting rulings on who deserved to be the rightful leader of the party.

But a Port Harcourt division of the Appeal Court on Friday, however, held Sheriff as the authentic chairman of PDP, while expelling Ahmed Makarfi.
