All Africa Games: Nigeria Weightlifters Claim Seven Medals in One Day
Team Nigeria weightlifters have become the first Nigerian athletes to win a total of seven medals in one day, at the on-going All Africa Games, in Congo Brazzaville.
Nigeria’s Bilkis Abiodun, became the first Nigerian athlete to win three gold medals in one day, she won the three gold medals in the 75kg event for women, which includes snatch, clean and jack, and total.
In the women’s 69kg category Winifred Eze Ndidi won a total of three silver medals in snatch, clean and jack and in total.

Also on the medals list was Nigeria’s Anyalewechi Michael, who won a bronze medal in the 85kg clean and jack in the men’s category.
In total, Nigeria won three gold, three silver and one bronze medal in weightlifting in one day.
Team Nigeria is finally finding their rhythm after a disappointing start to their campaign.
