Alleged Fraud: EFCC Drags Ex-Minister Kabiru Turaki To Court

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned former Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Kabiru Turaki, at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

EFCC is prosecuting him for alleged fraud.

The former minister is facing 16 count charges, all bordering on fraud.

Justice Ekwo presided over the matter on Monday.

Turaki was indicted along with his former Special Assistant, Sampson Okpetu, Samtee Essentials Limited and Pasco Investment Limited.

Punch reports that EFCC alleged that the ex- minister used the two companies belonging to his aide, to perpetrate the alleged fraud.

But they pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Justice Ekwo granted them bail and fixed June 22 for the trial.

Turaki is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
