Amaechi, Aisha Clash Over Alleged Attack On Kaduna Train Station

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and a co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) campaign, Aisha Yesufu, have exchanged words on social media over an attack at the kaduna train station, allegedly involving the minister.

This came after Amaechi refuted a media report on the alleged attack on some passengers arriving at the Rigasa train station on Sunday evening by suspected kidnappers.

The report claimed that the minister, who was scheduled to use the train, had fled and abandoned the other train passengers when the assailants carried out the attack.

The suspected kidnappers were said to have laid ambush at the Mando area to attack the passengers.

Reacting in a tweet on Monday, Amaechi, however, described the report as “Fake News” adding that “This is completely concocted.”

But Aisha tackled the minister and accused him of lying that no such thing took place.

“Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi you should be ashamed of yourself. My sister, my brother and my sister-in-law were in that train. When your convoy scattered and you fled like a new born mouse whom water have been poured on, it was witnessed!. GOVERNANCE IS NOT BY LIES & PROPAGANDA!” she said.

Amaechi again responded, saying: “Madam, I was not attacked, I did not see or escaped attackers, bandits or kidnappers. I did not “fled like a…” Insults & abuses will not change the fact that I was not attacked or escaped attack, in Kaduna last night. BTW, we can still be respectful & courteous here.”

Meanwhile, DailyNigerian reported that the kidnappers had opened fire on some vehicles before some mobile policemen and soldiers rescued the situation.
