Americans Asked To Sign Petition To Rename U.S. State’s Longest Road After Trump

United States citizens have been urged to sign a petition that will compel the State of Florida lawmakers to rename the longest road in the state after former president Donald Trump.

The petition as well as the legislation is being sponsored by Florida Representative Anthony Sabatini.

On Friday, the lawmaker claimed that Trump deserved the best recognition for being one of the greatest presidents in the country.

“Highway 27 is the longest road in Florida, 491 miles, it goes from Miami all the way to Georgia and Indiana,” he added in a Facebook post.

The petition partly reads: Whereas, President Trump has the full support of me and countless other Floridians and deserves to be honored.

“Therefore, I urge you to vote for and publicly support Rep. Sabatini’s measure to rename U.S. Highway 27 as the “President Donald J. Trump Highway.”

Furthermore, Fox News reports that the city of Frostproof, Florida had also declared the first week of February as “Donald J. Trump Week” as a way of honoring him.

But the former president’s impeachment by the House of Representatives for allegedly inciting an insurrection at the U.S. capitol is still being discussed at the the Senate.

The House had impeached him for the second time, blaming him for the hate across the country which later climaxed in the mob attack last year.

But Trump had exonerated himself from the said attack while condemning the insurrectionists.
