Amotekun Intercepts Buses With Suspected Bandits, Weapons In Ondo

The Ondo State chapter of the Amotekun has intercepted three buses loaded with weapons and youths who are suspected to be bandits.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu announced this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Olabode Richard Olatunde, on Friday.

The statement titled, ‘Ondo Amotekun Intercepts 18 Bandits With 500 guns, weapons In 3 buses.’

It read, “Operatives of the Amotekun Corps in Ondo State have intercepted a bus loaded with 500 pieces of daggers concealed under the seats.

“Also intercepted were weapons with different sizes of knives and guns concealed inside tigger nut bags.

“18 people suspected to be bandits were arrested with the vehicle while two buses escaped.”

Parading the suspects before journalists in Akure, the state Commander of Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, said the three buses escaped from different checkpoints before they were arrested in Ondo town.

Recall that Amotekun in each of the South-West states said they were at alert and on the lookout for some of the bandits who fled from the North-West following the constant military onslaught against them in recent times.
