Anambra 2021: PDP Candidate Votes, Calls For Extension Of Voting Time

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Valentine Ozigbo, has cast his vote after much delay in his poling unit.

Speaking after voting, Ozigbo said he was impressed with the turnout of voters but call on INEC to extend voting time to enable people vote for lost hour.

“I am actually impressed that Amezi community came out in their numbers,” he said.

Ozigbo complained about the delay in the voting process. “I am worried that it took that long,” he said.

The PDP candidate said there was a time network failed. To ensure people are not denied their rights to vote, he appealed to the chairman of INEC to extend the voting time.

He appealed to INEC to ensure all the eligible voters to ensure people’s votes count.

Ozigbo further asked the INEC chairman to reach out and check out where there are issues. On security, he said there is abundance of security personnel which has helped to calm things down.

However, Ozigbo said he didn’t want to use Amezi not to judge overall and will reach out to other areas to know what was going on there.

He also appealed to people to come out and cast their votes, noting that it is safe. “This is our civic responsibility, let’s come out and exercise it,” he said.
The much anticipated governorship election is ongoing amid low turnout and late arrival of voting materials.

Ozigbo however said he was sure of victory
