Anambra Church Killing: Police Nab Suspects

A day after the tragic shooting of churchgoers at St. Philips Catholic Church in Ozubulu, Anambra State, the police say it has arrested suspects involved in the killings.

Spokesperson of the Anambra police command, Nkeiruka Nwode, was quoted as saying some suspects were in detention but would not reveal the identities of those arrested.

“This is a very sensitive investigation so you people (journalists) have to help us.

“As soon as the investigation is concluded, we will let the public know. But as far as I’m concerned, it definitely has nothing to do with terrorists. It’s just a conflict between individuals,” she said.

The community was thrown into confusion and mourning on Sunday when unidentified gunmen invaded the church during the 6:30 am mass, killing scores of people.
