Anambra Election Tribunal Forced To Relocate Sitting To Kwara State

The Anambra governorship election petitions tribunal has relocated its sittings from Awka to Ilorin in Kwara State following fears that supporters of one of the candidates was planning attacks on the members.

While no official confirmation to this claim has been verified, a credible source in the tribunal revealed that a particular candidate was sponsoring thugs to attack members and that the plan was uncovered after disagreement among the attackers.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Andy Uba, came third although latest court ruling disqualified him, citing his party’s refusal to conduct a proper primaries before the election.

But speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria in Awka via telephone on Tuesday, Mr Surajo Gusau, Secretary of the tribunal, confirmed the movement saying it took place on December 17.

He revealed that the tribunal had already settled down in Ilorin.
He, however, did not disclose the reasons for the relocation, saying it was based an administrative directive.
