Anambra: PDP Constitutes Appeal Panel Over Emergence Of 2 Gubernatorial Candidates

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has constituted a 25-man panel to look into appeals arising from its just concluded Anambra governorship primary election.

The panel would be chaired by the party’s national chairman, Uche Secondus, while Senator Umaru Tsauri was named secretary.

The panel constitution followed the confusion that trailed the conduct of PDP’s Anambra governorship primary after two factions of the party held separate elections and produced two flagbearers ahead of the November 6 election.

Senator Ugochukwu Uba and Valentine Ozigbo were elected as the respective flagbearers of the PDP factions.

The PDP appeal panel would meet on Tuesday, June 29, to review the primary election, the party’s national organising secretary, Col. Austin Akobundu (rtd), said in a statement.

Other members of the panel are Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, Senator Sulaiman Nazif, Dr Agbo Emmanuel, Hon. Abdullahi Maibasira, Hon. Adewale Aribisala, Kola Ologbondiyan, Hajiya Maryam Waziri, Hon. Udeh Okoye, Emmanuel Enoidem, Alh. Mai Adamu Mustaphaa, Taofik Arapaja, Hon.
