Anambra ‘Spiritual Scientist’ Claims Simple Cure For Covid-19, But His People Are Not Convinced

Crisis is brewing at Agulu community in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State following claims by one Chief Frederick Dike Ezenwata, aka Nwatadibia, that he found the cure for Covid-19.

THE WHISTLER gathered that the crisis began when Chief Ezenwata, a renowned herbalist, claimed that he had been empowered by gods to use Sun and Moon to examine the astral world and get solutions to the pandemic within fourteen days.

He told our correspondent in Awka, Friday, that, “What anybody who has the virus need do is to stay under the sun for about five hours, and return to the lab; the result must be negative. This is divine. I solve this human calamity spiritually, and it’s free of charge.

” Many have been cured of this virus across the world using this simple method. Anybody in doubt can contacted.”

He claimed that, “The virus broke out because Chinese people desecrated a certain shrine worshipped by their forefathers which protected them against diseases. It angered the gods.

“I have the powers to cure those already inflicted, and also curtail the spread by the powers given to me by the Almighty. Let our leaders contact me, and check if I’m just lying. They don’t need to see me in person. I can cure it on air.”

He claimed to be a ‘weather controller and spiritual scientist’, adding that, “I started controlling weather and healing the sick since 1976. I mounted a spiritual powerful satellite on the Sun and the Moon.

“They are called He Quetoria Mazmazu and Rings of the World. I can use it to penetrate all parts of the world where coronavirus is and wipe it out. Those already inflicted by the virus should be kept outside the sun at noon, under the moon at night and outside to receive air at 9pm.”

However, his community, under the umbrella of Agulu People’s Union (APU), Nigeria, in a letter signed by its president general and secretary respectively, Chief Andy Orakwelu and Mr Albert Dimaka, with the caption, “Fake claim for cure of coronavirus (COVID-19)”, has warned the claimant to desist from the utterrances.

According to the letter, “With reference to your posting on the social media, claiming to have powers to eliminate COVID-19 within fourteen days and the consequent complaints from various quarters in Agulu and beyond, the president general of APU, having interviewed you and found no basis for your claims, hereby mandates as follows:

“a. You will refute your claim for cure of COVID-19 in the internet within 24hrs. b. No patient will be admitted by you in connection with COVID-19. Leadership of Agulu People’s Union frowns at your purported claim for cure of COVID-19 in view of the tensions and fear being created by the claim.

“In view of the above, you will be closely monitored. Failure to comply with the above mandate exposes you to serious disciplinary action by APU. You are seriously warned to comply. You are expected to respond to this letter within 24hrs with evidence of accomplishment of mandate.”

Ezenwata however has vowed never to withdraw his claims ‘because it is a revelation from God’. He further claimed that five coronavirus positive patients from a state in Western Nigeria and a ‘whitewoman’ that tested positive for the virus had been cured of it after waiting under the sun for sometimes, adding that he started the process of cleansing the world of the virus even without the support from the leaders.

He said, “The fear of my people is that the carriers would come to Agulu. I hereby tell them that I don’t need anybody to be present.”

When contacted, the APU president general, Chief Andy Orakwelu, said he was yet to find where the herbalist’s laboratory was located, stating that the matter had been reported to the Department of Security Services.
