Anambra: Woman Caught Trying To Sell Her Baby For N150, 000 ‘Due To Hardship’

One twenty-one-year-old Emila Sunday, from Akwa Ibom State, has been arrested by the police operatives of the Anambra State Police Command while trying to sell her three months old baby boy at Ire-village, Ojoto. Miss Sunday attributed her action to poverty during police interrogations.

A release made available to THE WHISTLER in Awka, Wednesday, signed by the Anambra State Police Command’s police public relations officer, SP Haruna Mohammed, stated that, “On the 24/11/2020, at about 6pm, following an intelligence report, police operatives attached to Ojoto Division in Anambra State arrested one Emila Sunday, ‘f’, who claimed to be twenty-one years old, from Akwa Ibom State, with a three months old baby boy at Ire-village Ojoto.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman is attempting to sell her three months old baby boy which she claimed was due to hardship. The baby was rescued in good health condition, and investigations are ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the matter.”
