Angry Voters Comply With ‘Buhari’s Order,’ Lynch APC Thug For Ballot Box Snatching

A trending video on social media indicates that an alleged thug of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has been lynched by a set of angry voters for allegedly leading other thugs to snatch ballot boxes and destroy electoral materials in polling units in Lagos state.

The lynched APC thug, who was identified in the video as ‘Daddy Demola,’ was said to have led his gang members to snatch ballot boxes and disrupt electoral processes in some polling units in Lagos on Saturday when the ugly incident happened.

Some Twitter users who reacted to the video claim that the angry voters simply complied with President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive that anyone who snatches ballot box and is caught in the process deserves to pay with his or her life.

President Buhari had in the run up to the presidential and National Assembly elections that held on Saturday said he had ordered security operatives to deal “ruthlessly” with anyone that attempts to disrupt the elections.

“Anybody who decides to snatch boxes or lead thugs to disturb the election, maybe that would be the last unlawful action you would take,” the President said, adding that, “I have given the military and police the order to be ruthless. I am going to warn anybody who thinks he would lead a body of thugs in his locality to snatch boxes or to disturb the voting system; he would do it at the expense of his/her own life.”

Reacting to the lynching of ‘Daddy Demola’ in Lagos, Nigerians on Twitter blamed President Buhari for the jungle justice meted out on the alleged APC thug by the angry voters.
