Anonymous Takes Down Nigerian Army Website

The Nigerian Army website has become the latest target of international hacker group, Anonymous, which recently declared war on online assets of the Nigerian Government.

The group announced a few minutes ago that it had taken down the Army’s website, after previously taking down websites of the Nigeria Police Force and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

THE WHISTLER’s checks on army.mil.ng at different intervals returned the following error message: “ERROR 502 – Bad Gateway! This server received an invalid response from an upstream server it accessed to fulfill the request. If you get this message repeatedly please contact the webmaster.”

Anonymous has been carrying out the cyberattacks to show solidarity with youths who are protesting against police brutality and bad governance in the country.

The group had done similar thing in the United States at the peak of the #BlackLivesMatter movement after the alleged murder of black American, George Floyd, by a police officer.
