Popular hacker group, Anonymous, has warned Nigerian blogger, Kemi Olunloyo, against dabbling in its ongoing attack on government websites in the country.
The group had announced its attack on First Bank’s website on Saturday, which is its first attack on a private business in the country.
Anonymous said it attacked the bank’s website for allegedly instructing its staff not to join the ongoing #EndSARS campaign in the country.

The group’s warning to Olunloyo, however, came after the blogger tweeted that, “We also took down @FirstBankngr website!!!…. Telling their customers not to protest #EndSARS and also deducting your money, FIP charges, stamp duty etc. etc. to NIGERIA’S thieving CBN.”
A member of Anonymous, who goes by the twitter handle (@LiteMods), warned Olunloyo to steer clear the group’s activities.
“stop taking credit for my work,” the member tweeted on Saturday.
Meanwhile, in apparent response to the attack on its website, First Bank has come out to deny stopping its workers from joining the protest against police brutality and bad governance.
The bank tweeted on Saturday: “We wish to state very clearly that First Bank has not banned any staff from joining the protests and will never do so.
“We have continued to lend our voice to end all forms of brutality including Police, Rape and domestic violence.
“Our position remains that deep-rooted Reforms are a fundamental solution we must embrace.”
Anonymous, which recently vowed to lend its voice to the EndSARS campaign, has so far taken down the websites of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), while temporarily shutting down the websites of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) via DDoS attacks.
