In the past years, many Nollywood actors have shown interest in politics.
On Sunday, veteran Nigeria actor Emeka Ike announced on his Instagram page that he will kick off a career in politics.
The Nollywood actor says he will be contesting for a seat in the house of representative.

Ike, who joined the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in Ideato south local government in Imo state, wrote on his Instagram page, “Campaign up, YPP, youth and masses friendly party. Let’s go, fellow masses is changing the grass root narrative. Youth, it’s our time.”
He further said, “Real leaders should step out to the center stage. Let’s sample the stuff you are made of. Not merely sharing money. No content.”
The 51 year old actor also shared his campaign pictures on his Instagram page.
Recall that Ike won the debut edition of the celebrity Gulder Ultimate Search. He, however, lost the Actors Guild Association of Nigeria [AGN] presidential election.
